Immanuel has been blessed to have had such a quick response to our pastoral needs! Minister Deon McKenzie has been called as our Transitional Pastor following the departure of Dr. Jimmy Watson. Pastor Deon is married and has three children. His wife works in the Ladue School District. The youngest daughter has completed high school and is now attending undergraduate classes in college. Pastor Deon most recently served as Intentional Interim Minister at Christ the King UCC in Florissant. He joined in 2010 and has now completed his assignment with the placement of a settled pastor. In addition, he is attending classes at Eden Theological Seminary to get his Masters of Divinity degree and is due to graduate in May 2023.
Besides possessing a rich spiritual background, Pastor Deon brings with him a wealth of life experience. He is retired from the Army after serving 36 years. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and more recently held a Senior Human Resources position in the Army.
