Nancy Irene (Marts) Remmert, 90, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born October 3, 1935, in St. Louis to Frank and May Marts, who preceded her in death. She met her loving husband, Bob Remmert, in the first grade, they married on April 29, 1956, and celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2020.
Nancy is survived by her four children and their spouses; Jeffrey (Kathi) Remmert, Kenneth (Lenora) Remmert, Paul (Cindy) Remmert and Leslie (Steve) Soich. She was Grandma to Nathan (Ashley) Remmert, Justin (Heidi) Remmert, Cassie (Brandon) Weber, Breanne (Robert) Higgins, Megan Remmert, Braden (Andrea) Remmert, and Brecken Soich. She was also a loving GG to Barrett Weber, Charles Remmert, Colton Weber, Matthew Remmert, Harlem Higgins, Nicholas Remmert, Dallas Higgins, Madeline Remmert, Margaret Remmert, and Genevieve Irene Remmert.
She was a constant presence in the life of Faith Salem United Church of Christ and then later, Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ferguson. She was a true ambassador for Jesus Christ and lived her faith with sincerity, compassion and grace through her community involvement. She served as the administrative assistant for the Parishes Associated with the Kinloch Team (PAKT) for 23 years. She was a long standing and active member of the Interfaith Partnership, from which she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022, and Church Women United serving in several leadership roles including President for the State of Missouri.
Nancy, together with Bob, enjoyed traveling with the UMSL Community Chorus and performing throughout Europe. She was a voracious reader and passionate supporter of the Arts in the St Louis Area. Nancy was also a proud mother and grandmother of 5 Eagle Scouts.
The Remmert Family is incredibly grateful for the care and compassion of the medical staff at Christian Hospital NE. In keeping with her character, Nancy has donated her body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
