Earthquake Relief Support

The Interfaith Dialogue Group, that Immanuel participates in, has asked us to share this urgent request to help with earthquake relief efforts. You can drop off supplies at Immanuel throughout the next two weeks, until March 5. Please read the message below….

We are collecting blankets and shoes to be shipped to the victims left homeless by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Any type of blankets, quilts, sleeping bags, etc. will do. Shoes of all types, men’s, women’s, and children’s. New or used. They do not need to be in perfect condition. We are on a very tight deadline because the need is urgent and we are scheduled to load our donations onto a cargo plane in Chicago on March 8th.

Please do what you can to spread the word to your churches or faith groups. I can start picking up on Sunday afternoon, March 5 and will continue for a couple of days if necessary. Just let me know where you would like me to make the pick up; at a church, business or residence. Our goal is to collect 10,000 blankets and as many shoes as we can.

Please contact me with any questions or if you need help setting up a blanket or shoe drive.

Thank you so much. The need is urgent. Over 35,000 people have died and many hundreds of thousands are homeless and cold.
